2. During Booking: What to Do and Not to Do After you're booked, you’ll likely be fingerprinted, photographed, and asked routine questions. While you must comply with administrative procedures, any questioning about the incident can remain paused until you have your attorney. If you’re held overnight, you should be arraigned formally charged often within 24 hours unless bail is granted sooner.
